Naval force: Morocco seeks to close the gap with Spain

Morocco has launched with Navantia the order of a patrol boatConstruction work on this ship, which belongs to the Avante 1800 class, is progressing at a good pace and will allow the kingdom to strengthen its Royal Navy, which nevertheless seems less equipped than that of Spain.

The patrol boat under construction will be 87 metres long and 13 metres wide, and will have a capacity of 60 people, including 46 crew members and 12 additional personnel. The military vessel will also be able to carry two RHIB-type fast boats and will have a helicopter roof. At full load, i.e. 2,020 tonnes, the patrol boat, which will be equipped with four MAN 175D main engines and five Baudouin 6 M26.3 marine generator sets, will be able to reach 24 knots.
