Naïma Moutchou causes general hilarity in the National Assembly
While announcing the result of a vote in favor of French potato chip manufacturers, Franco-Moroccan MP Naïma Moutchou, vice-president of the National Assembly, made a slip of the tongue that was, to say the least, crisp.
French MPs adopted an amendment on Friday night which favors French potato chip manufacturers. If the vote took place without a hitch, what will have caught the attention is the crisp slip of the tongue from Naïma Moutchou, the session chair. While announcing the result of the vote, the vice-president of the National Assembly confused the 202 “voters” with “potatoes”, reports Huffington Post. Enough to provoke laughter among his colleagues. “Excuse me, dear colleagues, I can’t get over it,” she then joked in front of the amused deputies who did not fail to applaud her.
