Murder of Meryem in Saint-Gilles: husband freed after lie detector test
The man suspected of killing his wife Meryeme in a building on Rue de Mérode in Saint-Gilles in 2022 and of making her death look like suicide has been released from prison.
Relief for the suspect of a femicide, in preventive detention for a year and a half. “We confirm that the accused is being held in detention under electronic surveillance by decision of the council chamber of 9 August 2024”, confirms the Brussels public prosecutor’s office through its press service to The Last Hour. His release from prison follows a polygraph test, the “lie detector”. “He took the polygraph test which was positive for him. He was able to reunite with his children,” comments his lawyer Carine Couquelet.
