MRE wanted in Belgium for kidnapping, arrested in Spain

The Spanish authorities have arrested an individual actively sought by the Belgian justice system. This fugitive, of Moroccan origin, suspected of having participated in a kidnapping in Antwerp, was arrested on August 28 at the port of Almería.

The man was the subject of a European arrest warrant. Belgian investigators accuse him of having kidnapped a person between 16 and 17 February. The kidnappers allegedly demanded a ransom of 150,000 euros before releasing their victim. Although the Belgian police managed to free the hostage, the criminals had already fled with the money.
