MRE vehicles in temporary admission: beware of fines!
The temporary admission regime allows Moroccans residing abroad to use their vehicle in Morocco without paying customs duties. However, precise rules must be respected, and heavy fines are provided for in the event of violations.
The vehicle must be re-exported before the deadline expires, by its owner or by a person with customs authorization. In the event of non-compliance with the deadline, two options are possible: customs clearance, which involves payment of duties and taxes as well as a fine, or a request for an extension, subject to conditions.
