Morocco: WhatsApp banned for the Royal Gendarmerie

Following the court decision announcing a report drawn up via WhatsApp, the Royal Gendarmerie invited regional commandments, barracks, centers and patrols to strict compliance with the texts in force and to avoid sending any document via messaging applications and Social networks.

In this judgment rendered last December, the Court of First Instance of Ouarzazate pronounced the acquittal of a driver accused of speeding, on the ground that the report of the offense was established by elements of the Royal gendarmerie via the WhatsApp application.
