Morocco: watch out for the “silent killer”
Faced with falling temperatures, the use of alternative heating methods in Morocco is increasing, not without risks.
Among them, the “majmar”, a traditional brazier prized by certain Moroccan families to combat the cold, raises concerns. Its use indoors, especially in poorly ventilated spaces, can prove fatal. The cause is coal used as fuel, often responsible for carbon monoxide poisoning.
