Morocco: Two months in prison for cutting off an animal’s legs
A resident of the Zaouia Ben Khlil douar was sentenced by the court of first instance of Zagora to two months in prison, including one month closed, for having mutilated a donkey. The man will also have to pay a fine of 200 dirhams.
The case dates back to the end of last Ramadan. The animal allegedly entered the accused’s field to graze, angering the latter. “With bad intentions, he amputated the animal’s hind legs,” said Lamine Lbayed, an association activist.
