Morocco: two months in prison for a simple kiss
The Tangier Court of Appeal on Friday acquitted a woman sentenced at first instance to a two-month suspended prison sentence for kissing her partner, ruling that a kiss does not constitute an act of debauchery. The man received a three-month suspended prison sentence.
The Court of Appeal has just overturned this decision, maintaining that a kiss does not constitute an offense of debauchery. “The decision rendered on appeal has put things in their place and is in line with case law and doctrine concerning the offense of debauchery. Thus, she examined the file in all its legal and factual aspects,” rejoiced Me Yousra Raissouni, lawyer for the accused, toAlyaoum24.
