Morocco: Towards a return of visas for Algerians?

There are growing calls in Morocco to reinstate the visa requirement for Algerian citizens, a measure that was lifted in 2004 after a decade of enforcement.

The request comes amid tensions between the two neighboring countries. The alleged involvement of Algerians in a recent attack on the city of Ceuta, as well as hostile remarks made by some Algerian nationals against Morocco, have rekindled concerns.
