Morocco: three dead in an illegal well in Taounate

The Taounate court of first instance sentenced a farmer to four months in prison for involuntary manslaughter and illegal drilling of a well. This tragic incident cost the lives of three men, including the imam of the mosque in a commune in the Meknassa region.

The farmer had dug a well more than thirty meters deep without authorization. His older brother, having found himself trapped at the bottom of the well, called for help. The imam and younger brother tried to help him, but were also victims of asphyxiation.
