Morocco: These Yellow Vests, These Outlaws

While several car parks are free in Agadir, individuals in yellow vests, acting as car guards, reign supreme on various streets. The latter are in the sights of the municipality which intends to file a complaint against them.

Individuals in yellow vests removed the signs indicating free parking in a very busy daily car park, located at the Souk Al Ahad market in Agadir, to continue collecting parking fees and extorting citizens, denounced Abdallah Boulghmair, third vice-president of the city’s municipal council in a statement to Alyaoum24. “The municipality is filing a complaint against individuals who were seen in videos recorded by surveillance cameras at the Souk Al Ahad market in Agadir, removing signs indicating free parking around the market, in opposition to the council’s decisions and with the aim of misleading visitors to the city and collecting fees for parking their cars, although free parking had been announced,” he said.
