Morocco: TGV to Marrakech before 2029

Morocco is stepping up its preparations for the 2030 World Cup. A high-level meeting, chaired by Interior Minister Abdelouafi Laftit, revealed the date for the completion of major infrastructure projects, including the high-speed train (TGV) linking Kenitra to Marrakech.

This TGV, which should be operational by 2029, is part of a global strategy aimed at modernizing the Moroccan transport network. The project also includes the development of a regional express network (RER), which should also be finalized before 2029, one year before the 2030 World Cup jointly organized by Morocco, Spain and Portugal.
