Morocco strengthens its military spending

Morocco is pulling out all the stops on its defense. The general budget of the national defense administration for 2025 has seen a significant increase, as revealed by Abdelatif Loudiyi, Minister Delegate in charge of the National Defense Administration, before the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defense.

This budget now amounts to 69.6 billion dirhams, or approximately 7 billion dollars. An increase justified, according to the minister, by the State’s desire to support the armed forces. Concretely, the allocated envelope reaches 58.7 billion dirhams, an increase of 6% compared to 2024. To this sum is added 10.9 billion dirhams from the Ministry of the Economy and Finance.
