Morocco: strange disappearance of several million dirhams from a bank

Elements of the National Office for the Fight against Financial and Economic Crime, attached to the National Brigade of the Judicial Police, are investigating the hacking of several million dirhams from accounts at Bank Al-Maghrib.

In hours, hackers took possession of no less than 42 million dirhams from an account opened in an agency affiliated with Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM) in Tangier. These operations were carried out between last Thursday and Friday, reports Assabaadding that the movements of the embezzled funds were detected in a bank account in Inzegane. To succeed in their plan, the authors withdrew these funds after exploiting confidential data from a company whose account is domiciled in an agency affiliated with BAM in Tangier.
