Differences in training and experience, individual errors and physical weakness… These are all factors that contributed to Morocco’s defeat against Portugal. While the Portuguese team relies on an advanced training system that starts at the youngest age, where the basics of the game are instilled from childhood, futsal in Morocco still focuses mainly on seniors who enter the competition without having benefited from systematic training from a young age. Result: Jorge Braz’s protégés dominated the match until the end thanks to good organization and developed tactics, and Hicham Dguig’s men made individual errors and often ineffective tactical choices.
