Morocco: Oujda Angads airport under water

The torrential rains that fell in the Oriental region caused flooding in the cities of Oujda and the municipalities of Bni Drar, Ahfir and Berkane. The Oujda Angads airport was not spared.

Traffic on the national road linking the cities of Oujda and Berkane, via Bni Drar, was cut off on Saturday due to the surge of runoff water. The area of ​​Oujda Angads airport was also flooded. Deploring this situation which is repeated every year, Salima Faraji, former deputy of the region, asked what measures the competent authorities plan to take to prevent flooding in these areas in the years to come.
