Morocco: Olive oil fraud

Bouazza Kherrati, president of the Moroccan Federation of Consumer Rights, called on the competent Moroccan authorities to strengthen controls in order to fight against fraud in food products in general and olive oil in particular.

In an interview given to Aljarida24Kherrati deplored “a virtual absence of control due to the overlapping skills of public institutions in this area”. Morocco “is experiencing a real crisis with regard to the control of food products in general, and not just olive oil,” he added, stressing that “it is the consumer who ultimately pays the Invoice “.
