Morocco no longer wants frozen meat imported
The Moroccan government has decided to suspend the import of frozen red meats for several reasons.
The government decided, on October 15, 2024, to authorize professionals to import frozen meats for a period of three months. But the operation was subsequently transformed into a regular import of non -frozen meats pushing the government to suspend the import of frozen meats, reports Al Ahdath al Maghribia. At the origin of this suspension, the technical difficulties under the conditions of their conservation in the storage and sale places. Numerous unadred slaughterhouses were closed by ONSSA when importing the first cargo of frozen meats. Thus, importers had to have recourse to private slaughterhouses, to prevent meats from being damaged.
