Morocco: Mosque bans women from access, associations angry

Women no longer have access to a mosque located in Imintanout, in the province of Chichaoua. Community actors are crying out indignation and calling on the competent authorities to intervene.

A mosque in Imintanout, Chichaoua province, has been closed to women without any prior notice. The head of the mosque decided to close the women’s wing of this place of worship, which is close to the Imintanout Court of First Instance, without providing any explanation. Thus, this decision prevents women in the neighborhood and court employees from practicing their prayers.
