In Guelmim, a single mother sentenced at first instance to ten years in prison for allowing her daughter to die has just benefited from a reduced sentence.
The Criminal Chamber at the Court of Appeal of Guelmim reclassified the facts which are accused of the single mother prosecuted for having abandoned her daughter, a baby that she “had left in a place out of sight, which would have led to his death” and reduced his sentence by half. She was sentenced to ten years in prison and has already served eight months in a cell in Bouizakarne prison, reports Al-Akhbar.
