Morocco is equipping itself: planes, tanks and defense systems in 2025
Morocco has been investing for around ten years in strengthening and modernizing its army, increasing its military budget year after year until it reached 133 billion dirhams this year, compared to 124 billion in 2024, an increase of 7 .25%.
Since 2019, Morocco has significantly increased its defense spending, from 96.7 billion dirhams in 2019 to 115.5 billion in 2022, 124.7 billion in 2024 and 133 billion in 2025. Defense spending for this year include nearly 53 billion dirhams for the national defense administration, including 45.356 billion for the personnel and 7.632 billion for equipment, indicated Nadia Fettah, the Minister of Economy and Finance, at the end of October when presenting the budget to parliament.
