Morocco impacted by the “Dana” depression from Spain
The atmospheric depression “DANA” which caused heavy precipitation as well as thunderstorms and violent winds in the south-east of Spain during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, also affects Morocco, according to the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) .
“In this region, a warm, humid air mass from the Mediterranean collided with cold air in the upper layers. This difference in temperature and humidity favored the formation of ascending currents and heavy precipitation,” indicates the DGM in an opinion, adding that this presence of warm air masses in the Mediterranean basin “led to heavy rains and floods”.
