Morocco: good news for road accident victims
The Minister of Justice, Abdelatif Ouahbi, announced an upcoming review of the dahir governing compensation for victims of traffic accidents, a text almost 40 years old. This announcement follows a meeting held with various players in the sector, including insurance companies.
The main objective of this reform is to modernize a system considered obsolete and unsuitable for current economic realities. The minister particularly pointed out the paltry amount of compensation, set at 9,270 dirhams per year, a sum well below the current minimum wage.
