Morocco forced to import olive oil
The government of Aziz Akhannouch has finally found a solution to overcome the decline in local olive oil production due to drought, which has seriously affected the country’s agricultural harvests and caused the price of the product to soar.
Importation is the solution found by the Moroccan government to resolve the crisis that is shaking the olive sector. Local production has fallen dramatically this year, causing the price of olive oil to rise. Olive oil prices have exceeded 150 dirhams per liter in some regions, increasing the pressure on consumers and the economy.
