Morocco: Fatal Collapse in a Stone Quarry

A 50-year-old man from the Azilal region lost his life following a collapse in a stone quarry in the commune of Ghiata Al Gharbia. An investigation has been opened to determine the causes and circumstances of the incident.

The victim suffered fractures to the shoulder and chest. His body was transferred to the morgue of Ibn Baja Hospital in Taza for autopsy. A second victim, aged 51, seriously injured in the left leg, is receiving appropriate care in the same hospital. The gendarmerie services of Oued Amlil in Taza have opened an investigation to shed light on this tragic accident.
