Morocco falls in the world tourism rankings
A twist for the Moroccan tourism ! The latest report from the World Economic Forum reveals a worrying decline in the Kingdom in the tourism and travel development index for the year 2024. Relegated to 82nd place out of 119 countries, Morocco loses twelve places compared to 2019, a dizzying fall that calls out.
During a parliamentary session, MP Nadia Thami from the Progress and Socialism (PPS) group did not mince her words in front of the Minister of Tourism, Fatima-Zahra Ammor. Based on the report, she pointed out Morocco’s “average” performance, far from the ambitions displayed by the government. “Contrary to what is promoted internally”, the report highlights several obstacles hindering the development of the sector.
