Morocco facing a decline in fish stocks
The fishing sector in Morocco is in crisis. Professionals in the Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima region speak of a worrying “shortage” of fish, leading to a significant increase in prices.
Mounir Draz, president of the Mediterranean Chamber of Fisheries, which covers the coastal strip from Larache to Saïdia, confirmed this shortage of fishing resources in the Mediterranean, indicating that this “problem has been occurring for years and has not yet been addressed as it should be.”
