In Al Hoceima, many holidaymakers have found a trick to avoid hotels that have become too expensive for them.

Due to the exorbitant prices charged by hotels, many holidaymakers have set up tents near the beaches despite the ban by the authorities and the risks. These tents are swarming on beaches such as Quemado, Calabonita, Isly, Thikkit, etc. It is common to see holidaymakers moving from one beach to another throughout their stay in Al Hoceima, tents on their backs. They use these tents to protect themselves from the heat during the day and the cold at night. These holidaymakers do not have the means to rent apartments whose prices can reach 600 dirhams per night.
