Morocco extends sanctions against American PVC
The Moroccan Ministry of Industry and Commerce has decided to extend the anti-dumping duties applied to imports of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) from the United States. This decision, announced Wednesday, November 27, follows an investigation which revealed that American PVC was sold at significantly lower prices on the Moroccan market, creating a situation of unfair competition.
The investigation, initiated in December 2023, highlighted a significant price gap between the two markets, confirming the persistence of dumping detrimental to Moroccan manufacturers. The ministry’s report highlights that this aggressive commercial practice has had negative repercussions on the national PVC sector, leading to a drop in productivity and a loss of market share for Moroccan companies.
