Morocco: Drunk magistrate causes accident and flees

The prosecutor’s office of the Kenitra Court of Appeal has requested that proceedings be brought against a magistrate who, while drunk, caused a traffic accident and fled before being arrested.

The magistrate was arrested by judicial police officers as he was heading towards Tangier, the daily reports. AssabahThe latter caused the accident in the Khabbazat district, while he was driving an all-terrain vehicle while drunk, injuring a pedestrian. He then fled towards the north of the city, without alerting the police and emergency services.
