Morocco: companies in the taxman’s viewfinder

As part of the fight against tax fraud, tax controllers focus on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) located in the Rabat-Casablanca region, in a deficit situation for several years.

These companies are suspected of tax fraud, in particular abusive optimization of charges or manipulation of tax declarations. To detect these possible fraud, the control services of the Directorate General of Taxes (DGI) led detailed tax audits in these SMEs. These investigations relating to the last three years of activities have revealed persistent differences in the financial assessments of these companies over several years, said Diplomatic Morocco.
