Morocco changes the balance of power against Spain

Morocco purchased the Ofek 13 spy satellite last year from the Israeli company Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI). This acquisition appears to be causing concern in Spain.

Morocco purchased, at the end of last year for an amount of around one billion dollars, this Israeli satellite dedicated to intelligence missions, replacing the Mohammed VI-A and Mohammed VI-B satellites. The Ofek 13 satellite, the most advanced in its class, “will enable the collection of information in all weather and visibility conditions, improving strategic intelligence,” said Boaz Levy, CEO of Israeli company IAI.
