Morocco: Car “price increase” postponed

The call by automotive professionals for a postponement of the joint decision of Mohamed Abdeljalil, Minister of Transport and Logistics, and Leila Benali, Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, on the obligation to comply with the “Euro 6” standards for approval and registration, has been heard.

Automotive professionals can rub their hands. The joint decision of Mohamed Abdeljalil, Minister of Transport and Logistics, and Leila Benali, Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, on the obligation to comply with the “Euro 6” standards for approval and registration will be postponed by two years for vehicles in categories N1, N2, N3, M3 and M2. This measure comes “in the global context marked by geopolitical tensions, inflation, supply difficulties and instability of fuel prices, in addition to the costs resulting from the new standards that threaten the renewal of the land transport fleet,” it is specified.
