Morocco: camels victims of a strange disease

The mysterious disease which caused the death of numerous camels in Zagora and M’hamid El Ghizlane has almost been identified.

Agents of the Zagora veterinary division, attached to the regional directorate of the National Food Safety Office (ONSSA), are carrying out an in-depth health investigation to diagnose the mysterious disease affecting camels in the areas of M’hamid El Ghizlane and Zagora. They traveled to various remote areas and took blood samples from sick camels for laboratory analysis to determine the nature of the disease and administer the necessary treatments. They also questioned the owners and breeders about the conditions of infection of camels and the symptoms observed.
