Morocco bets on the argan tree
Morocco is embarking on a vast reforestation project focusing on the argan tree. The Agency for Agricultural Development (ADA) plans to plant 10,000 hectares of argan trees in the regions of Souss-Massa, Guelmim-Oued Noun and Marrakech-Safi.
This project, called DARED and financed by the Green Climate Fund, aims to transform the production of argan, currently harvested in the forest, into real organized agriculture.
