Morocco: Apartment boom forces hotels to review their prices
In Morocco, another form of accommodation is thriving to the detriment of hotels: tourist apartment rentals that have a storefront.
As the new school year begins in three weeks and Moroccans living abroad (MRE) prepare their return to their host countries, hotels are struggling to take advantage of the last days of their summer vacation in the various tourist destinations of the kingdom. Although hoteliers are making efforts to take advantage of the dynamics of domestic tourism in early August and make up for the decline in bookings observed in late July, they are facing increased competition due to the development of tourist apartment rentals, notes Morocco Diplomatic.
