Morocco, a threat to Spain?

Morocco does not currently represent a threat to Spain, despite its insistent claims over Ceuta and Melilla, General Loreto Gutiérrez Hurtado, director of the National Security Department (DSN), said on Monday.

Speaking at a breakfast organized by the Club Dialogues for Democracy, Loreto Gutiérrez Hurtado insisted that Morocco does not pose a threat to Spain. “We have working groups linked to Ceuta and Melilla, as with all the other autonomous communities, because it is our duty to defend our state, and for the moment there is nothing specific to contribute in this regard,” she said.
