Morocco: a mysterious disease hits the herds

Cases of sudden deaths of sheep and goats have recently been recorded in the Al Haouz region. Concerned, PPS MP (Party of Progress and Socialism) Nadia Touhami calls on the Minister of Agriculture.

Sheep farming in danger? PPS MP Nadia Touhami, in a written question addressed to the Minister of Agriculture, indicated that “many breeders from the Ait Mergen douar, from the Sitti Fadma commune in the Al Haouz province, were surprised by cases of death sudden outbreak of sheep and goats, struck by a contagious animal disease which manifests itself in the form of white or red tumors in the liver and lungs” and called on him to act with all possible emergency to treat affected animals and stop the spread of the disease. Without forgetting to remember that livestock farming constitutes the main source of income for the inhabitants of the municipalities concerned.
