Morocco: a fine against food waste?

The parliamentary group of the National Rally of Independents (RNI) has just tabled a bill aimed at combating food waste. Sanctions are also planned.

In the explanatory statement, the initiators of this proposed law indicate that Moroccan families threw away more than 4.2 million tonnes of food in 2022, compared to 3.3 million tonnes in 2021, which represents an increase of around one million tonnes.
