Morocco: a beach becomes paying, and it causes controversy
Morocco: a beach becomes paying, and it’s controversial
The municipality of Beni Ensar is criticized for having made access to its beaches chargeable. Summer visitors call on the governor of Nador province to intervene.
Saturday, while going to Bocana (Boukhana), many summer visitors were surprised by a toll station with a group of employees belonging to the commune of Beni Ensar, requiring them to pay 10 dirhams to enter the beach from Bocana. Enough to arouse the indignation of summer visitors who denounce a restriction of their freedom of movement. Some of them explain that they go to Bocana for reasons other than relaxing by the sea. There are some who have families and own houses in the area. All cities encourage citizens to visit the beaches for vacation, but Beni Ensar had another vision, by imposing this tax, although the area does not have the municipal services that would justify this imposition, criticizes a visitor.
