Moroccans reduced to slavery in Lot-et-Garonne
Twenty Moroccan workers were exploited in shameful conditions by a farmer from Lot-et-Garonne. Attracted by the promise of a work contract and a better life, they paid 10,000 euros each to reach France.
On site, the reality is quite different: they are housed in unsanitary accommodation, subjected to a frantic pace of work and paid a pittance. One of them, having received only 1,500 euros for eleven months of work, even tried to end his life.
