Moroccans expelled from Saudi Arabia
Moroccans are among thousands of illegal migrants arrested and deported from Saudi Arabia as they tried to cross the border into the kingdom.
In total, 22,021 violators of residence, work and border security regulations were arrested during security campaigns in the kingdom’s regions over the past week, the Ministry of Interior of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia said in a statement. It specified: “Among those arrested, 14,508 violated the residence regulation, 4,511 the border security regulation and 3,002 the work regulation.” 998 individuals were arrested while trying to cross the border to enter the kingdom: 39% are of Yemeni nationality, 60% of Ethiopian nationality and 1% of other nationalities, including Moroccans, the same source detailed, adding that 41 people were also arrested while trying to cross the border to leave the kingdom irregularly. The number of people involved in the transportation, accommodation, employment and concealment of violators of residence, work and border security regulations arrested amounts to 11.
