Moroccans exhausted by Schengen visa delays

Exasperated, many Moroccans decided to organize a sit-in in front of the headquarters of the Portuguese embassy in Morocco in Rabat to demand explanations for the delay in the issuance of work visas.

Dozens of young Moroccans are unhappy with officials at the Portuguese embassy in Rabat because of the delay in issuing work visas. One of them is named Nabil, an electrician from Kenitra. While he received a promise of employment from a Portuguese employer and was able to gather all the necessary documents and submit his visa application in June 2024, he has received no response so far.
