Moroccan player donates 500,000 euros to Gazans

Anouar El Ghazi announced on his social networks on Friday that he had won his legal battle against his former club, Mainz. The Moroccan-born player, who was fired for expressing his support for Palestine in the Gaza conflict, has just received €1.7 million in compensation from the club.

After winning a first trial in July, when the courts found Mainz guilty of unfair dismissal, El Ghazi has now won his legal battle against his former club. This August, the court ordered Mainz to pay the Dutch player of Moroccan origin the sum of 1.7 million euros in compensation.
