Moroccan military aviation is modernizing: the Caracal helicopter in the sights
Suspended in 2021 due to diplomatic tensions between Morocco and France, negotiations between the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) and the French manufacturer Airbus Helicopters, for the acquisition of twelve French Caracal H225M helicopters, have resumed.
The Rabat-Paris axis is strengthening. An offer from Airbus for the acquisition of 12 H225 Caracal helicopters is currently under discussion with Morocco, reports BFMTV. Information confirmed by the Arab Defense Forum, which specializes in news from Arab armies. According to the latter, the French manufacturer recently presented a new offer to Morocco including 12 H225 Caracal helicopters. In the event of an agreement between the two parties, the signing of the contract could be effective during the visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Morocco scheduled before the end of 2024.
