Moroccan loses French nationality
Bilal Taghi, the Franco-Moroccan jihadist sentenced in 2019 to twenty-eight years in prison for attempted murder of two guards at Osny prison (Val-d’Oise), has just been stripped of his French nationality.
“By decree dated August 5, 2024, on the favorable opinion of the Council of State, Mr. Bilal TAGHI is stripped of his French nationality,” states a decree published Wednesday in the Official Journal. The 32-year-old, affiliated with Daesh, had attempted to assassinate two guards at Osny prison, where he was serving a five-year sentence, with a homemade knife.
