Controllers from the Foreign Exchange Office are currently verifying the documents of certain Moroccan businessmen who transferred tens of millions of dirhams to finance investments in the Gulf countries and Africa.
While foreign exchange regulations allow companies to transfer sums which can reach 200 million dirhams per year to finance projects abroad, twenty businessmen have transferred nearly 7 billion dirhams abroad over four years, reports Assaba. The amount of Moroccan investments abroad during the first eight months of this year exceeded 11 billion dirhams.
