Moroccan artists cry out against injustice

Artist Chaimae Abdelaziz has denounced the policy of exclusion from festivals and cultural evenings of which she claims to be a victim, calling on the Minister of Culture, Mehdi Bensaid, to put an end to this discrimination suffered by many artists.

Many artists complain about being excluded from artistic evenings and festivals, said Chaimae Abdelaziz, criticizing this exclusion that she and some of her colleagues are allegedly subject to. The artist also questioned the selection criteria for singers who perform on festival stages, saying that most of the Moroccan artists who performed at the Mawazine Festival 2024 “have neither the voice nor the stage presence.”
