Moody’s rates the Moroccan economy
International rating agency Moody’s Rating confirmed Morocco’s Ba1 rating on Friday, noting that the kingdom’s economic outlook “remains stable.”
This confirmation of Morocco’s Ba1 ratings highlights the kingdom’s institutional strengths and its solid external position, as well as the low income levels and socio-economic challenges that limit the government’s fiscal consolidation strategy, indicates Moody’s. These challenges hamper debt reduction and the search for financing for the implementation of development projects. Despite progress, Morocco is lagging behind on the road to development, compared to other countries having obtained the same rating, notes the rating agency.
